Our cricket betting tips are up next and I’m about to tell you why the Southern Brave can start the defence of their title in style against the Welsh Fire.
I’ll also tell you why I’m backing a very obvious but also very good batsman to top score for the Brave at today’s Hundred betting odds, plus give you my prediction for the toss winner.
We highlighted the potential of the Welsh Fire to have a really good season and maybe go all the way, which is why they were one of our two selections to possibly win in our The Hundred winner market preview.
But they may just have to wait for their chance to get off the mark.
The Brave are not only the defending champions but the Brave won all of their four home matches last year at the Rose Bowl, including against the Fire, so they’re currently boasting an 100% record when they have home comforts.
Given that record, you could argue the price on the Brave is a good one.

Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire Betting Hot Bet Prediction
Sometimes it’s not worth overcomplicating things.
James Vince was a stand-out player for The Hundred last year when they won it, was their top runscorer in it and is fresh from a fine campaign in the T20 Blast, where he captained Hampshire to the title, yet another trophy in his illustrious career.
He knows this ground like few others and will surely bat in the Top 3 so there are plenty of reasons why he’s a good candidate to be their top batsman.
Those were the first innings scores in The Hundred last year played here at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, home of the Southern Brave.
That’s an average of 139 in terms of first innings runs so bear that in mind if you’re playing that market.
More to the point: they won on each of the four occasions that the Southern Brave played here at the Rose Bowl.
On each of those four occasions, they chased.
That tells us two things: firstly, chasing is the way to go here or at least it is if you’re the Southern Brave.
And secondly, the Southern Brave are so far unbeaten at home.
The caveat, of course, is that they’ve been lucky enough to chase on all four occasions they played here.
In other words: if the Brave chase, they have a great chance of winning but if they have to bat first for a change, they may not be so confident about getting over the line.
There’s roughly a 5-10% chance of rain so we shouldn’t expect many interruptions to proceedings.
