The consistently inconsistent Jamaica Tallawahs must be a frustrating team to watch if you’re a fan of theirs. That said, they have been fairly impressive in their last couple of matches, particularly when it comes to batting.

It is not surprising since batting is their strong suit, especially with the presence of Andre Russell in the middle order. His ability to find runs quickly in middle-order has often proven to be a difference between winning and losing.

In the match before, they posted 169 runs batting first against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots – and ended up winning by 22 runs.

Most recently, they played Saint Lucia Kings in a low-scoring affair where batting first, the Warriors posted figures of 151-6 (Brandon King’s 77 off 57 was instrumental in that regard).

The bowlers did well to defend that small total with Gudakesh Motie and Odean Smith picking two wickets each. Ultimately, they managed to restrict the Kings to 134-6 and won the match by 17 runs.

With two wins in the last three, the tide is slowly beginning to turn in their favour. But as I said, what they need the most now is a good batting display to up their net run rate.

It all comes down to how the players perform on the field on Saturday.
