Manchester Originals vs Trent Rockets Betting Odds
Today’s Hundred betting odds have the Rockets as favourites. As we’ll soon see, they’re likely to be without star man Rashid Khan but I’ll tell you why I think they can overcome his absence and win anyway.
I’ll also give you my prediction for who can win the toss and my Hot Bet, a betting tip at bigger odds than usual, that is normally a top batsman or top bowler selection.
In this case, it’s an opening batsman who’s in good form and available at bigger odds than you’d think so don’t miss out on him.
Manchester Originals vs Trent Rockets Betting Winner Prediction
Recommended Bet: Back the Southern Brave to win @ 1.8 with Pure Win.
In terms of online cricket betting, the Trent Rockets are the favourites here. But should they be?
Especially given they’re almost certain to be without Rashid Khan, away on international duty?
The answer is still, yes.
The very capable Tabraiz Shamsi will replace Khan and it’s not that much of a step down given the South African spinner’s excellent economy rate and ability to break up partnerships.
But it’s in their batting the Rockets hold the trump cards anyway.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: their Top 4 of Hales, Malan, Munro and Root is as good as it gets, although they’ll soon lose Root to England Test match duty.
The Rockets are two from two and showed last year what a capable side they are, while the Originals had a poor season last time out and things haven’t been much better so far this time, with two losses from two.
They’re a little too over-reliant on star men Andre Russell and Jos Buttler and if those two don’t fire, they may struggle all season.
All in all, it’s an easy decision to go with the Rockets, who could easily win the whole thing.

Manchester Originals vs Trent Rockets Hot Bet Prediction
Recommended Bet: Back Phil Salt to be Manchester Originals Top Batsman @ 4.5 with Betway
Jos Buttler is one of the world’s top white ball batsmen and has been for a few years now.
But he’s not superman and even more so in this format than most, anyone could be out very cheaply with players needing to take risks from the very first ball.
In the Originals’ two matches so far this season, Butter top scored in one with 59 while Phil Salt, the other opener, top scored in the other game with 36.
As we know from our top batsman guide, a classy player opening the batting are two big boxes ticked and Salt ticks both of them.
Given Buttler is just 2.8 and Salt is almost twice the odds at 4.5, it makes perfect sense to go with Salt.

Of the four matches that were played at Old Trafford last season, only two of them resulted in a full game.
The London Spirit posted 142/6, which the Originals weren’t able to chase, finishing six runs short. And the Originals then chased just 88 against the Phoenix.
There was also a no-result after the Originals got to 98/3 after 71 balls before the rain came and a game that was abandoned without a ball being bowled against the Superchargers.
So we really don’t have much to go on in terms of what happened last season but we have already had a match here in Manchester this season.
The Originals posted a very healthy 161/4 but the Superchargers chased it relatively comfortably, with six balls to spare.
So this looks like a good wicket and the side batting first might be able to get to 160 again so consider that when playing the first innings runs market.
